About This Event
Ekphrastic writing is work inspired or stimulated by a work of art. Photographs, because of their senses of immediacy and intimacy, can be especially useful paths to creating a poem. We'll look at ways to approach ekphrasis and use photographs, fine art and candid snapshots, to generate our own writing. Our emphasis will be on exploration and discovery in this informal workshop: no previous writing experience is necessary! Facilitated by Erik Schuckers, Center for Creativity: The Workshop This workshop is free and open to all members of the University of Pittsburgh community: students, faculty, and staff.
