PLEASE NOTE: This is a 3-week class. Each class is a 3-hour session from 10 am to 1 pm. Registering for this class includes registration for ALL THREE CLASSES. Saturday, September 21, 10am-1pm Saturday, September 28, 10am-1pm Saturday, October 5, 10am-1pm CLASS DESCRIPTION: Learn the basics of cartooning in this course with professional cartoonist/illustrator George Broderick, Jr. From creating original characters using basic, simple shapes to inking, lettering and coloring your drawings for that “professional” touch, the next GREAT comic character could be just a few pencil lines away. AGE LEVEL: 9-12 TUITION: $120.00 (due at time of registration) plus Eventbrite fee of $8.93 MATERIALS NEEDED: Please bring the following materials to class: 1 Drawing Pad 1 Set Colored Markers Medium Point (Sharpie or Art Quality) 1 Black Medium Point Pen (Sharpie or Art Quality) 3 Black Fine Point Pens (Sharpie or Art Quality) CLASS MINIMUM: 4 students. INSTRUCTOR: George Broderick began cartooning at age five when he peddled drawings of Mighty Mouse, Woody Woodpecker, and Popeye from the back of his little red wagon to the unsuspecting neighborhood moms for a nickel a sketch. He has worked as a professional in comics since 1982. Since then, he has written stories for DC Comics, Marvel Comics and handled both scripting and editing on the LOST IN SPACE and QUANTUM LEAP comic books for Innovation Publishing and editing on LOST IN SPACE: Voyage to the Bottom of the Soul for Bubblehead Publishing. In order to minimize cancellations that inconvenience our instructors and other students, class cancellations must be made at least 72 hours prior to the start of class. Students who comply with this requirement will receive a full refund. Students who do not comply will be subject to a $25 cancellation fee.
