About This Event
Successful turning begins with a knowledge of proper tool use and technique. Many turning tasks can be accomplished with a variety of tools, but once a tool has been selected, its configuration, sharpness, and presentation to the wood can make a huge difference in the resulting quality of cut. In this class you'll learn about a wide range of the more commonly used lathe tools, how different grinds can be used to make them more appropriate for particular applications, how to keep them sharp, and how to present them to the work for optimal results. Participants are encouraged to bring some of their own tools to evaluate and use during the class, but tools will be available for those who don't have (or wish to bring) their own tools.
